The Family Development Foundation (FDF) in the UAE, led by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, is on a mission to redefine the social landscape and enhance the well-being of families and communities. This visionary initiative recognizes that empowering families is the key to building a prosperous nation.

Mariam Mohamed Al Rumaithi, General Manager of the Family Development Foundation, highlights the meticulous design of FDF’s services to strengthen the basic unit of society: the family. Aligned with Sheikha Fatima’s commitment to family stability and well-being, FDF introduces a comprehensive suite of offerings, including active parenting skills and the Child and Youth Development Service dedicated to nurturing the younger generation.

FDF recognizes the importance of caring for the elderly. Initiatives like the Barakat Al Dar Club connect senior citizens with society, allowing them to share experiences and contribute to addressing their specific needs. FDF also empowers seniors to stay connected in a digital society through its digital qualification service.

Sports and leisure play a pivotal role in family cohesion. FDF’s initiatives, such as the ‘100 Days Challenges,Better Family Life Forum, and effective parenting service, promote physical and mental wellness. These efforts are achieved through collaborations with various entities, emphasizing the importance of intergenerational ties.

FDF plays a significant role in nurturing families through social programs and services designed to reinforce family stability and provide support to all family members. These services empower parents and caregivers with active parenting skills, problem-solving, and Child and Youth Development Services.

FDF addresses the issues leading to divorce in the UAE through tailored programs for young adults and individuals aged 25 to 35. These programs aim to raise awareness of the fundamental principles of a successful marriage, rectify misconceptions, and provide premarital preparation training courses.

The Foundation collaborates with various governmental and non-governmental entities, leveraging statistical data to develop effective programs. Recent studies, like the one conducted in collaboration with the University of Sharjah, focus on reducing divorce rates among Emiratis by raising awareness about the fundamentals of a successful marriage.

The Foundation’s dedication lies in creating a supportive environment for all family members, working in synergy with partners from various sectors to achieve sustainable social objectives. From education and healthcare to the voluntary sector and media, FDF aims to realize the UAE’s vision for a harmonious, integrated, and resilient society.

In summary, the Family Development Foundation’s array of family-centered services and initiatives is poised to make a significant impact on the well-being of families in the UAE. Through a holistic approach that spans generations and sectors, FDF is laying the foundation for a stronger, more harmonious society.
