UAE Expatriate Workers Protection

The UAE has implemented various reform measures to ensure that workers enjoy their rights to health insurance, a safe work environment, adequate housing, and fair compensation. The country has also imposed legal, standardized, and registered labor contracts, limited recruitment fees, and prohibited the confiscation of workers' passports or restricting their movement.

In addition, the UAE has adopted several International Labor Organization agreements related to workers' rights, which place it at the forefront of countries committed to protecting workers. These agreements address a range of issues, such as working hours, forced labor, labor inspections, and the protection of workers from arbitrary practices.

It is also noteworthy that the UAE has included domestic workers in its laws and regulations since 2017, recognizing their importance and vulnerability. These workers now enjoy legal, financial, and human rights, including proper working conditions, rest hours, time off, humane treatment, prohibition of passport confiscation, physical and psychological security, and the right to travel and leave.

Overall, the UAE's commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of expatriate workers is commendable. These recent legal reforms demonstrate the country's dedication to aligning with international human rights standards and creating a fair and just work environment for all
