Sultan Ahmed Bin Jaber appointed as president designate for COP 28

High-Level Champion and the Youth Climate Champion, Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will join Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber’s COP28 UAE delegation, respectively. The annual climate conference will be held in the UAE from November 30 to December 12, 2023, in Expo City in Dubai.

These appointments occur at a critical time, when the globe is dealing with difficulties related to energy, food, and water security, as well as halting the loss of biodiversity.

Significant emissions cuts, a reasonable, realistic, and pragmatic approach to the energy transition, and increased support for developing countries are all necessary to keep global warming to 1.5C. In order to achieve the solutions and objectives, the UAE is dedicated to multilateral cooperation and an inclusive process that brings together developed countries, civil society, and business.
