Dubai Police Launches 'Our Children are Our Responsibility' Campaign on World Children's Day
Dubai Police has launched a new awareness campaign called "Our Children are Our Responsibility" on World Children's Day, which aims to promote and protect child rights in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The campaign, which was launched on November 20th, involved more than 100 children and their families marching in Dubai to raise awareness about the importance of child rights. The event was held in collaboration with local authorities, community organizations, and civil society institutions.
According to Major General Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Murr, the Director of the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police, the campaign is part of the police force's commitment to community responsibility and raising awareness. He stated that Dubai Police has introduced various channels of communication to help victims of abuse seek help and enable members of the public to report violations directly and confidentially.
"We have zero tolerance for abusers of children's rights. The welfare of a child is a given priority, and above any consideration in all cases received by Dubai Police, this is per international and local laws, especially Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning Child Rights," he added.
The UAE has been proactive in promoting child rights and protecting children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning Child Rights provides comprehensive legal protection for children and their rights in the country.
Maj Gen Al Murr emphasized that all judicial authorities, police and security agencies, and civil society institutions in the UAE stand together to ensure the necessary preventive measures are taken to protect children's rights.
Dubai Police has encouraged members of the public to report any child rights violations confidentially to the authorities. The police have also assured the public that they take all reports seriously and that necessary actions will be taken to protect the welfare of children.
The "Our Children are Our Responsibility" campaign is a significant step towards promoting and protecting child rights in Dubai and the UAE. By raising awareness, encouraging public reporting, and ensuring that child rights are a top priority, the campaign is expected to contribute significantly to creating a safer and more secure environment for children in the country.
