Aries Group’s Remarkable Organ Donation Initiative: A Pioneering Move in the UAE
In a groundbreaking demonstration of social commitment, 1,650 employees of the UAE-based Aries Group pledged to donate their organs during a program held at the company’s Sharjah headquarters. This pledge, led by Sohan Roy, founder, chairman, and CEO of Aries Group, marks a significant milestone in the company’s dedication to social causes.
Among the participants, over half are UAE residents, with the remainder hailing from the company’s global offices, showcasing a global unity toward this noble cause.
Aries Group’s commitment extends beyond a simple act of philanthropy. It resonates deeply with the company’s core values, emphasizing the importance of preserving health not just for its employees but also for their families through organ donation. This initiative embodies the ethos of Aries Group, prioritizing wellness and welfare.
To further advocate for organ donation, the company announced that 90% of its forthcoming job openings will be allocated for supporters of the organ donation campaign. This step underscores their dedication to promoting awareness and encouraging participation in this crucial cause.
Partnering with Fr Davis Chiramel’s Green Life, the official volunteer of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Hayat Programme, Aries Group amplifies its efforts to raise awareness. ‘Hayat’ represents a national initiative aimed at enhancing organ and tissue donation practices in alignment with global standards. Fr Davis Chiramel, an Indian Catholic priest known as the Kidney Priest, leads Green Life, dedicated to promoting deceased organ donation and supporting those affected by organ failure.
Fr Chiramel, designated as a “Hayat champion” by Mohap, further fortified the UAE’s organ donation campaign with official endorsement. Roy attributes Fr Chiramel’s guidance as instrumental in securing official approval, highlighting the collective determination driving this transformative cause.
Aries Group recognizes that nurturing a culture of self-care among employees significantly influences organizational success. Championing organ donation, they emphasize the importance of personal well-being, echoing their commitment to a healthier and socially conscious workforce.
Renowned in the marine industry, Aries Group operates across 25 countries, calling Sharjah its base of operations. This initiative exemplifies their dedication to leading not only in business but also in advocating for social responsibility and well-being within their community.
